Kamakura Stroll Vol.3 –

I went ahead with my “Kamakura Revenge” trip!
Actually, I tried it last week too, but I suffered my first-ever bout of heatstroke—a real baptism by fire—and took a triple punch of “cold sweats, endless yawning, and feeling like a newborn fawn (shaky legs),” forcing me to drop out mid-trip… Everyone, taking a break before you turn into a newborn fawn is absolutely essential. Make sure to load up on fluids and salt before your body signals that it’s “pushing past its limits.”
It was a life-or-death (?) rematch, but Kamakura after the Obon holiday was surprisingly empty! I was able to enjoy a truly peaceful and comfortable Kamakura while also doing some work-related sourcing.
The photo shows Jufuku-ji Temple, completely empty—I was overjoyed to find it “unexpectedly all to myself.” The luxury of having the silence all to myself made last week’s suffering worth it (lol).

From Japan.
